When Action Gets Things Done.

Kaleidoscope returns with its newest review of AGBO's & Netflix's production of "Extraction"  Directed by Sam Hargrave, the film stars Chris Hemsworth.  Rated 'R', it has a running time of 1 hr., 56 min.

After an absence of several weeks due to quarantine because of the corona-virus, I felt it was time to restart Kaleidoscope reviews of select films that I have seen from home.  This film has little plot to get in the way of all of the action.  That is not necessarily a bad thing; it just the way the movie is constructed.  The POV is thru Hemsworth's Tyler Rake character.  His mercenary task is to retrieve the son of an Incarcerated Indian drug lord.   The son sneaks out of his house one day, goes to a club to party & is kidnapped there by 2 police officers who are really thugs employed by the son's father's rival drug lord. Rake manages to get thh boy away from his captors, & the remainder of the film pits Rake trying to evade the rival drug lord's pursuers as he seeks to return the boy to his father.

For the movie that it is, it is adequately filmed & constructed.  During the pandemic, however, it is a perfect escape from what is occurring around us.

I give "Extraction" 7 out of 10 nuggets for being a fun, lively 2 hours of escape from the troubles of the world & its viral invader.
